DNA Testing in California
Whatever your interests, the Golden State has plenty to do. If it’s stunning architecture with fabulous views you’re after, then San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge will be on your list. If it’s nature at its breathtaking best that you love, head for the wilderness of Yosemite National Park. With children in tow, Disneyland is obviously your first choice. While wine-lovers will definitely want to visit the vineyards of Sonoma and Napa Valley. Or for those looking for coastal adventures, Big Sur’s parks and beaches will impress you.
If it’s the Hollywood dream you’re after from the TV reality show “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”, get yourself to Los Angeles, or The City of Angels, where you can shop or ‘window shop’ till-you-drop along Rodeo Drive. Visit the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame and place your hand in your favourite movie star’s handprint. Head down to Venice Beach to walk along the front and buy your glitzy souvenirs or roller blade if it takes your fancy to see the infamous Muscle Beach gym. The skate park is always buzzing with skaters and onlookers with its futuristic metallic bowls and half pipes. It’s also worth hiring a car and driving up the coast to San Francisco; be sure to stop off and visit the street markets and the sandy beaches at Santa Barbara. And that is just the start of your amazing Californian dream.
DNA Testing in San Diego, San Jose and Sacramento
San Diego is known as America’s finest city: it is sunny, it has a world–famous zoo and irresistible beaches inhabited by tousle-haired surfers, valet parkers and hipsters serving drinks in cool bars in the Gaslamp quarter. It is the eighth-largest city and yet it is so laid back. First timers should head to the zoo, unwind on the beach afterwards and have a fish taco followed by an evening in the party district of Gaslamp Quarter and enjoy the best of American weather.
San Jose is culturally diverse and has always been in San Francisco’s shadow. First named ‘El Pueblo de San Jose de Guadalupe’, it is California’s oldest Spanish settlement. It is full of Silicon Valley suburbia and has industrial parks, high tech business firms and houses that sprawl along the city’s landscape replacing the farms and ranches which used to spread between the bay and the surrounding hills.
Sacramento used to be a cow town where SUVs would go bumper to bumper with muddy farmers’ trucks. It does have sprawling suburbs but new areas are springing up; chic boutiques alongside aging mid-century stores. There is a thriving art and nightlife scene and locals boast about the Second Saturday, a monthly art gallery event that allows people to hop in and out for free and has begun a cultural awakening in this pretty city.
