The GPS Origins™ ancestral DNA test allows a more revealing and insightful picture of your recent ancestry (as opposed to other ancestry tests that report genetic similarity to modern-day populations). It indicates the country, island, city, or village where groups of your ancestors from different cultures met and mixed their DNA. Unlike other ancestry tests, GPS Origins™ focuses on physically tracing your ancestry back up to about 1,000 years. This biotracing technology allows experts to pinpoint specific locations on the map.
GPS Origins™’ unique algorithm was developed by Dr. Eran Elhaik and his team at the University of Sheffield. It is the most sophisticated geo-targeted ancestry test available and traces your ancestry to around 1,000 years from the present.

Maternal lineage testing: Uses mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) to trace your maternal line back 150,000 years and report your mtDNA haplogroup. Shows migration routes of your maternal ancestors.
Paternal lineage testing: Traces the male lineage back 60,000 years and reports Y-chromosome haplogroup information. Can only be undertaken by males and shows migration routes of paternal ancestors.
